I’ve written before about my choice to move to Asheville: it was one of the least planned decisions of my life, born out of a need for a fresh start new adventure, rather than a cautiously planned transition.
As a result, I’ve learned a lot about the town that I wish I would have known before moving here.
Hopefully this helps answer some of the questions you have about the area.
1. Is moving to Asheville a good idea?
If you love outdoor adventures, a thriving arts scene, and craft beer, Asheville could be your dream town. It’s a small city with big charm, but it’s not for everyone. The changing environment comes with a change in the flow of energy that feels natural to me.

Cons:
•High cost of living
•Tourists (they love Asheville as much as we do)

•Traffic can get congested, urban planning isn’t the best

4. What are winters like in Asheville, North Carolina?
