17 North Market Condo Guide

Labeled as one of the most exclusive condominium complexes in Asheville, 17 North Market Street is a small building with 14 high-end condos. It features reclaimed brick walls, hardwood floors, and luxury finishes. Its perfect location in the core of Downtown Asheville opens it up to all the buzzing city has to offer.

Building Exclusivity

The 4-story building has 14 units in the form of two-, three- and four-bedroom units ranging in size from 1,005 square feet to 2,712 square feet. With units ranging from $675,000 to $2,000,000, the building is one of the most expensive luxury condo buildings in Asheville.

Luxury Amenities

The building features many luxury amenities, including a private rooftop with a fireplace and seating areas, indoor/outdoor terraces, an underground parking garage, high ceilings, and luxury finishes. Residents also enjoy beautiful western urban and mountain views.

Living Spaces

Each unit on the first three floors has a typical floor plan of about 1,300 square feet with 2 bedrooms each apart from unit 101 which has 3 bedrooms and unit 303 which has a floor plan of 2,712 square feet. The fourth floor hosts the building’s two penthouses. One is a 4-bedroom unit with one balcony and a floor plan of 2,452 and the other a 3-bedroom unit with two balconies and a floor plan of 2,289 square feet.

Short-Term Rentals

Unlike many other condo buildings in Asheville's Central Business District, owners do have the option to short-term rent their units in the building.

Building Construction

The building was constructed in 1923 but with the oversight of MHA works, a commercial architecture firm that provides architecture, interior design, and planning services founded by Michael J. Hining, parts of the existing building were restructured and two stories added. MHA works collaborated with Medlock and Associates engineering, PA civil Design Concepts, PA and Slims Group Consulting Engineers, PC on the project. The company is also known for its work on the 5,600 square foot Chapel Hill Fire Station.

Building Location

17 North Market Street is located in the heart of Downtown, which is also Asheville’s Central Business District, or CBD. Dine at sidewalk cafes, enjoy unique tapas, grab a slice of pizza, and take a stroll through downtown to experience Asheville’s dynamic mountain arts culture.

Near Downtown Businesses

17 North Market is placed in the best location to explore the booming city’s abundance of trendy dining, shopping, drinking, and entertainment options. The premise is nestled between Thomas Wolfe Memorial and Pack Square (home of Shindig on the Green, Asheville’s famous summer bluegrass concerts) and it’s only a few minutes walk to almost every restaurant, pub, and shop in the downtown district.
